Alfonso Cirera Santasusana opened in 1994 a law office in Barcelona and started his own venture in what would become one to the first firms specialized in solving complex situations.
In 1996, Mr. Cirera saw the potential of Diagonal Mar and structured the only local offer for the purchase of this land from Kepro, which Hines finally acquired.
In 2001, Bufete Cirera created a real estate department with an experienced team and started an investment activity in debt and real estate assets. The first transaction was the purchase of Credit Agricole's debt in the real estate development of La Catalana (1.042.330 sqm), in San Adria, later sold to the current Neinor. Two years later, Praedium participated in the acquisition of the Natural Gas facilities where the Port Forum hotel zone would later be located.
In 2003, Cirera makes the decision to end its practice of law and create Praedium as an alternative investment firm.
Particularly noteworthy in 2006 was the investment of IAR Ibérica and the recovery of 70,000m2 of industrial land in Montcada. Also that same year 90.000m2 of warehouses were acquired from Puigneró in Roda de Ter.
In 2010 Nylstar is bought in Blanes with more than 250.000m2 of industrial land leading the turnaround of the factory to offer a higher quality production.
Also in 2010 the Sony logistics platform was bought in Spain, consolidating its operation and value for later sale to a logistic real estate fund.
Significant recent operations include the acquisitions of Lupo, a luxury company and the acquisition of Montefibre, a manufacturer specializing in the production of acrylic fiber, providing it with a new project for the production of carbon fiber.
